Item donations

Hope Direct Manchester is a charitable organisation set up to help the people of Sierra Leone. To that end we run a charity shop located on Chorlton Road, Manchester, where we sell a huge range of donated items ranging from furniture to every day household goods, all donated from individuals and businesses alike.

Hope Direct accepts donations of:

  • Sofas of all types
  • Chairs and armchairs
  • Wardrobes, cabinets and drawer units
  • Bric-a-brac (i.e. DVDs, videos, books, toys, kitchen items, pictures, ornaments)
  • Clothing and bedding

We also accept less conventional donations – for example a grand piano and a pool table were donated recently. However, at present we are unable to accommodate donations of electrical goods. Should you wish to donate electrical items, we will be able to provide you with contact details for an organisation equipped to accept them.

Monetary donations

Along with donations of furniture and household goods Hope Direct Manchester also welcome monetary donations which go directly towards funding a better life for the people of Sierra Leone. Below is a list of what your monetary donation can provide:

  • £25/month – Sponsors a child (food, education and medical needs)
  • £10 – Buys a set of farming tools
  • £25 – Buys seeds for a family
  • £90 – Ships a barrel of relief or education items
  • £20,000 – Builds a 4 classroom school
